Happy Halloween!

I really missed not seeing you yesterday. I called your Daddy and asked if I could come get you for a while. We were both happy to see each other! Grandpa doesn't understand the fact that when we first see each other we have to get all of our hugs and kisses in before you want to go see him. Maybe you are going to be a teacher - you are already trying to teach him to wait his turn:)
You played hard this afternoon. You were taking a nap when your Mommy came to get you. She got off work early so she could go trick or treating with you. I told her you need your nap since you would be out late. But noooo, she said she had to take you. She told me to get the video camera charged up. I did.
I waited and waited. She finally called to tell me that you were tired and crying, so they couldn't bring you out. I felt like crying:( I didn't get to see my baby all dressed up for his first Halloween. I am glad that I at least got some pictures of you when I bought the costume. I know you were the cutest little lion ever. I guess I will just have to post one of the old pictures.

Evil Eye

Your Mommy didn't feel well yesterday so you all just stayed home. I missed you:( I hope you all get better real soon.
We had fun grocery shopping today. Grandmommy has done something awful though. I let you taste my soda. Now whenever I have some you throw a huge fit. You love it! Your Mommy and I got one in the grocery store today. To keep the whole store from thinking we were torturing you I had to give you some of mine. I poured you a little in the cap and gave it to you that way. I love you but Grandmommy isn't into baby backwash. Your Mommy used to tell me that I gave her what she called the "evil eye" when she did something that she wasn't supposed to. Well, guess what?? She gives ME the "evil eye" now! I guess we will have to be more careful:)

No, No

Today I was trying to get ready to go grocery shopping. You kept flushing the toilet. I would move you away; you would crawl right back and flush again. I kept telling you no. You did it for about the tenth time and I told you no again. This time I lightly smacked you hand. You started to cry like you heart was broken. While sobbing you started shaking your finger at me while saying no, no. Your Mommy does that to you. I couldn't help but laugh at you. At the same time, I scooped you up and loved you a lot. Oh my, how fast you are learning. Finally, I got wise and closed the door so you couldn't get back in there.

I love you so much my baby. I am reminded to take every moment and savor it to the fullest. It is hard to explain but it is so much easier to do this as a grandmother. I am so grateful that you have given me the opportunity to do this because it slipped by with my own children and I regret it.

2nd Haircut

We finally got your haircut today. You were such a good boy! You didn't cry and you even sat relativly still. In this picture I think you look like you are going to ask the girl what she is doing to you:) She did a very good job. I was amazed at how much hair she cut off! You had some hair on your head:) When she was finished I wondered if you had any left. You look like such a grownup little boy.
Your Daddy was worried that you were going to get pneumonia so he asked your Mommy to take you to the doctor. I told him I didn't think he trusts my skills as a nurse! I even have a pediatric stethoscope. Dr. Paul gave you some medicine to help dry you up. He is so funny. In the direction he wrote something about mucous. He said he did that because they wouldn't let him write snot on a perscription! You are almost 22lbs now. Your are growing much faster than I would like.

I have said more than once that I really only write this blog for my wonderful grandson O Baby. This post is for the other people who read it. Back On Track

You hurt my feelings this morning. When you came in you were more interested in Chi Chi than me:( I knew that there was a good reason I don't like that dog! No not really. She is just a very spoiled dog. Speaking of spoiled, Grandpa admitted yesterday that you are NOT spoiled. It was good to know that he finally came to his senses:)
You were feeling better than you have been. We didn't have to give you any cold medicine today. Your appetite was much better too. I am so glad because I hate seeing you sick.

You had a good time playing in your toy basket today. You especially like the toys that have buttons to push. You have so many toys now I guess your Mommy and I are going to have to get rid of some of them to make room for the Christmas deluge. I can't believe it is so close. That means that you are very close to being 1! That is really hard to believe. Where did this past year go? It has been such fun with you. Thank you for coming into my life.

Quiet Day

Today your Mommy & Daddy had the day off. I am sure you enjoyed your time with them but I sure did miss you.
Grandpa, Chi Chi and I went for a hike on the Eglin Reservation. I saw some beautiful butterflies, strange looking green bugs, and big grasshoppers. Of course I took pictures. I take pictures of everything! It was a nice hike but very hot. Poor Chi Chi's tongue was hanging out so we finally decided to turn around.
The sunsets are very beautiful here out by our dock. This one was especially so. Since I don't have a picture of you today I will post this one.

Rematch

Mommy & Daddy worked today so we got to run around together. First we went to someplace that I would never be able to find my way back to if someone had a gun to my head. It was farther back in the country than I have ever been! Grandpa went to see the man about a dog box he is building for the new truck.
We had lunch at Ryan's. You love eating at those buffet places because you get so many different things to eat. I love watching you. You pick it up and check it out, turning it over and over. You try to squeeze it and then put it in your mouth. They had some really nice strawberries. You loved them!
Uncle Tom also loves strawberries. When he was a toddler I planted 50 plants. I never got any ripe berries. He would go out to the patch and snatch every little green berry. He popped them into his little mouth and would say "mummmm, mummmm". He was almost as cute as you are:)
After we made our way out of the woods and had lunch, we stopped at a flea market in Crestview. It was the biggest bunch of junk I have ever seen. You didn't really mind because I carried you around! I wasn't mean enough to make you ride in that awful stroller:)
When we finally made it home it was definitely time for a bath! You have this habit of rubbing your food all over yourself when you get full. Bath time was a fun time as usual. You and I had a splash fight. I'm not sure who won. We both laughed a lot. I guess I will have to challenge you to a rematch.

Fun Day

We felt better today although I still don't think you are at 100%. That didn't stop us from having a great time:) We drove to Pensacola to have lunch with our friends Beth and Frank I have never seen you like you were today. You were talking very loudly and at one time you even cried. You NEVER do that. You are definitely in your stranger anxiety stage. You wouldn't let Beth hold you:(

Tonight Aunt Christina took us to a Fall Festival. They had a little pool with ducks that you had to catch for a prize. You had lots of fun doing that. You really liked splashing the water more than catching a duck! The lady running the booth said it made her day watching you. You won stickers. I guess you thought they were food because you wanted to eat them.

We also got to go on a hayride. During the hayride, you were more interested in the moon than anything else. You kept pointing to it and telling everyone, "moon, moon".
We couldn't get you to ride in your stroller. You wanted me to carry you. You have been doing that lately. How are we going to teach you to ride in the stroller? I tried just letting you cry but everyone looked at me like I was a monster. What are we going to do with you???

Under The Weather

You and I didn't feel well today. We just sat quietly and watched the Wiggles. You sat with your beautiful little head against me and shook your tiny hands in time to the music. I hate not being able to do something for you. I hope we feel better tomorrow.
