If I need an ego boost all I have to do is go see you. When you see me you start bouncing up and down waving your arms and squealing. It makes me feel so good! Today Grandpa and I walked in together and he reached for you. You leaned over and reached for me:) We had a nice lunch. The waitress walked by and said you must be the proud Grandma by that big smile on your face. She was so right. I am extremely proud of you and your Mommy. If I had tried to imagine how things would turn out I couldn't have come up with anything as good as you! You have changed my life in so many ways. I love you with all my heart and soul.

My Granddaddy
Your Mommy and I have noticed something new. You yell a lot! It isn't crying; it is "talking very loudly". We tell you to use inside voice but either you don't get it or you just aren't listening. Which is it? I wish we knew what you are saying. I bet you do too:)
Your Mommy decided today that you weren't going to day care just yet. Yeah!!! What would Grandmommy do it you didn't come to see me almost every day? I would be so sad and I think you would too. Good decision Mommy:)
I patted the couch today and called Chi Chi. You did the same thing! It sounded more like you said Tee Chi but you knew what you were doing because you looked for the dog to come. You also patted the couch. Your Mommy said that you also called Bailey at home.
Today would have been my Grandfather's birthday. I miss him so much. I wish you could have known him. Your Mommy met him when she was little. I remember listening to him tell stories for hours. He had many different stories about Uncle Etham and Aunt Trice. Of course, they were fictional so he could make up whatever he wanted. He told us about when he was a baby he was a little girl. He could spin such good yarns we believed him! He was born in 1897. He lived to be 91. He made the best iced tea in the whole world. He would measure everything exactly and then throw in a little extra tea "just for good measure". He grew beautiful flowers. The ones I remember most were the gladiolas and tulips. He had an amazing stamp collection. He started my collection. He was a great fisherman. He fell out of his high chair when he was a baby and broke his leg. It wasn't set properly and he limped all his life. Everyone in our little town called him Granddaddy. He was known and loved by all. I could go about him forever. He will be in my heart always.

Growing Boy
We got some playing done today! You spent the whole day with me and we took advantage of it. You are pulling up and walking around things more now. You push your chair when you aren't sitting in it with your feet up on the table. Your Mommy doesn't like you to do that but when she isn't around we just say what she doesn't know won't hurt her:) You practiced making a lot of new sounds. You did very well feeding yourself. I must admit you did wear a lot of it:) You played a long time with Grandpa. Chi Chi is more accepting of you now. She will almost come close enough for you to pet her. We spent a long time with me naming things for you. You point to something and wait for me to tell you what it is. You especially like to look at family pictures. We also watched The Wiggles that I taped for you. I have a feeling I will be watching them a lot.
I gave you a bath in the sink again. It reminded me of the first time I gave you a bath. It was at Aunt Cathy's and it took both of us to do it! You were so little.
Look at the difference in this pic and the one yesterday. In this one you were 25 days old. You are such a big boy now. You even need another hair cut! It is starting to curl up. Do you think we will be able to talk Mommy into it?

Scrub a Dub
When Grandmommy gets behind on these posts it is hard to get caught up. The storm and my back have been my excuse lately. That's my story and I am sticking with it! I am going to be better, even if I just let some of those days go. Any day that I write for you is better than none, right?
Your Mommy brought you to see me today before she had to go to work. You had on such a cute outfit but you were soaking wet when you got here. We stripped you down and put you in the sink for a good scrubbing. You thought it was just so you could have fun:) We did have fun. I love hearing you giggle.
Daddy and you get some time together today. You haven't had much lately. He has worked really hard every day since the hurricane. He still has lots more to do.
I talked to Aunt Cathy's family and they survived their 3rd hurricane in a little more than a month. This one didn't do any damage to them. We are so glad.

Carrots Galore
Your Mommy and Daddy had to work today so you got to spend the day with me! Yeah. We played and had a good time. You are getting better on the piano. You bang it but you try to imitate me. By the time you are five maybe you will be giving me lessons???
My back is still hurting so it is hard for me to lift you. You are getting to be such a big boy now. Where did my little baby go?
We went to Golden Corral for dinner. You ate like a little piggy. I was amazed at all of the different things you ate. Your favorite was the carrots. I guess you will have good eyes:). In that way you are just like your Daddy, he eats tons of carrots. You ate a lot of them. You also smeared a lot of them all over the table:) Don't worry; Grandmommy cleaned it up. One of my pet peeves is people that allow their babies to make a mess in a restaurant and then just leave it.

Cruising in Style
Today we went to the mall. They have strollers you can rent but they return your money when you bring it back. It is easier to do that than drag your stroller out of the car. You got a really neat one today as you can see. You loved riding in it. You kept turning the steering wheel just like you were driving. You were grabbing the clothes when we passed. When Uncle T was little he was very quiet in his stroller. This was unusual and I knew he was up to something. I looked down and he had a whole handful of tags!
Dillards was having a sale so of course I couldn't resist buying you some new clothes. Did you hear that Aunt Cathy? We will take some pics later.

Wiggles
Your Mommy has been fussing at me:( She said I am teaching you bad habits. When I sing The Itsie Bitsie Spider to you I make a slurping sound when I tell you the sun dried up all the rain. You started trying to do it too. The only difference is you blow out and spit a little. She says I have taught you to spit! Oh well, we had fun and you had a giggling fit. That's the kind of fits I like:)
Tomorrow The Wiggles are having a marathon. They will be on 4 hrs. I will tape it for you so you can have Wiggles any time you want. They are your favorite show. It is hard to get your attention when you are watching The Wiggles. You are really getting into music now. You bounce when it is playing and move your hands too.
We looked at some day cares for you today. Grandmommy is supposed to be going on vacation. I don't want you to go to day care:( We did find one that looked okay but I still don't want you to go.

Full Power
Today was the first day school opened up. Your Mommy had to get back into the swing of things. That means I get more time with you:)
We went to your 9 month Dr. visit today. We love Dr. Paul; he is so funny. Sometimes he talks with a silly voice. He always explains everything. He never lets your Mommy leave until he is sure she has no more questions. You are 21lbs 2oz. and 30 inches tall. I really thought you would weigh more than that. You certainly feel heavier! You shouldn't have to have any more Dr. visits until you are 1. You have been a very healthy baby. We are so thankful for that. He was pleased with all of your development. We are too!
I was so excited today. They fixed our cable so I have an Internet connection again! Grandmommy was going through withdrawals. Yes, I am addicted:) All of our utilities are now up and running. I feel for the people who still don't have power and other utilities.
In this picture we were waiting on your Mommy to come out. You showed her how well you drive. You sure did like it!

Power Up!
Today was a great day for Grandmommy. I turned 50! I can't believe it. I never thought I would be this old. Where did the time go? Pretty soon you are going to be 1. That is pretty amazing too:)
We went to a luncheon that some of my TA TA friends put together. It was a lot of fun. You enjoyed yourself too. Aunt Christina was feeding you cherries with whipped cream and you were in heaven. I received lots of nice presents. Great friends are the one of the most valuable things you could ever have. I know you will have lots of them. You are so friendly.
Grandpa took me out to dinner at one of my favorite seafood restaurants, Staffs. It was so good but I couldn't eat everything. I wanted a caramel cake but the store that sells them still isn't open from the storm.
One other great thing that happened is when we returned home, the power was on! Yeah! How did Gulf Power know it was my birthday? We don't realize how much we depend on electricity until it is gone. Six days without it was a lot more than I needed to help me know that!
