Disney AGAIN!

Today you were in Tampa with your Aunt April. Your Mommy, Daddy, and Taylor get to go to Universal Studios. You probably wouldn't like it very much right now anyway. When you get a little older we will go to Disney, Sea World, and Universal. I can't wait to take you.
We used to live in Ft. Lauderdale when your Mommy was little. We had season tickets to Disney. We used to go a lot. One day we were getting ready to go again. Your Mommy wanted to know where we were going. When I told her she said, "Aw, Disney AGAIN!" I couldn't believe it. I told her that most little kids would give anything to go to Disney. She didn't care, she had had enough.
I am still staying at the hospital with Grandpa. His arm doesn't hurt quiet as much. They decided they are giving him the right antibiotic. I am so glad. This has been very, very scary.

Hospital Blues

Grandpa is pretty much the same today. We are now awaiting results to see if this nasty bug will respond to the antibiotics he is on. This is the same bug that makes people very sick when they eat some raw oysters. It is scary that it is in the water behind our house. You have been in that water! To get sick you have to eat it or have a cut on your skin that it can enter through. We will make very sure that you don't have any open places on your body before we take you back in there. Grandmommy has been learning a lot about it the last few days. Grandpa was a very lucky man. The doctors took an x-ray of his arm today. It was good so they don't need to do any surgery today.
I heard you fussing when I talked to your Mommy today. I told her that I could understand what your were saying. I know you were saying that you miss your Grandmommy and you want to go home to give her the hugs and kisses she needs!

Tooth #5

Your Mommy called me today and said you have another tooth. It is one on the bottom. We thought for sure it was going to be one on the top next. I guess it will follow closely though. She said you are having a good time. I am so glad.
Grandmommy and Grandpa aren't having any fun. I have been staying at the hospital with him. Grandmommy is a nurse and I don't like hospitals. I want to keep an eye on things. His arm still hurts really badly. Today it is swollen up to his armpit. This is a very ugly bug in his blood. They told us today it is vibrio vulnificus. Many people die when they get this. One of Grandpa's friends got it and had to have both of his legs amputated. The doctors keep watching his arm to see if they need to do surgery. We hope not.

Professional Cut!

Grandmommy stayed at the hospital with Grandpa all night and today except for a few hours this morning when I went home to get a shower.
He is very sick. This little cut by his wrist has swollen up past his elbow. It is very painful. His fever has finally come down. They are giving him lots of antibiotics IV. He hurts a lot pretty much all over.
I talked to your Mommy today and she said you got your first "professional" haircut. You received a certificate and everything! I hope she got some pictures of you for me.
I miss you so much. There is a lot happening with Grandmommy right now and I really need some of your sweet hugs.

Long Day

We got up early today to go to Mississippi. There were lots of things to do so we didn't get to leave until 9am. We got into a really bad traffic jam. It took us 3 hrs to drive what usually takes 45min. We stopped at McDonalds and Grandpa got a milkshake. He got cold. Before we were finished he was feeling bad. He cut his arm yesterday in a crab trap and it was swelling up. We decided to take him back to Eglin AFB hospital. We were in the ER until 3am and they finally admitted him. He has a real bad infection. It was a very long day for us.
The one bright thing is I got to talk to your Mommy for a minute and I heard your sweet little squeal! I hope you are having fun.

What to do???

You seem to be saying, "I can't believe I have a sister!" Sometimes you are so funny. The faces you make are just too much! Taylor is 9 but you look almost as big as she is.
Today your Mommy changed her mind several times. Last night she talked to your Daddy about going to Mississippi to see Uncle Gary. Daddy said no:( They have to go to Orlando so they were going to leave you with me. Yeah!!! Today Aunt Cathy called and begged Daddy. He said ok. I was to pick you up there. Well now Mommy says she isn't going to Mississippi for just one day. To top it off, they aren't going to leave you with me. Now, they are going to take you to Orlando:( Boo!!! I guess I will get to see you again on Saturday. You will get to see Daddy's family in Tampa. Don't give all your hugs and kisses away. I will be waiting on them.
You came out tonight to say bye to me. I got a supply of hugs and kisses but they didn't last. What am I going to do until Saturday???

Water Baby?

You had another fun day playing in the water! Today you played with your Mommy and your sister, Taylor. It didn't take you any time to get used to the water today. You started splashing and laughing right away. Maybe we can make you a water baby after all. Whew! It would have been pretty bad if you were deathly afraid of the water with a name like Ocean!
Poor Taylor had such a long day yesterday. You woke her up this morning. You were kicking the bed. Were you saying Sissy come get me? You try to let her sleep in the morning, okay?

Big Day

You were very surprised today when you woke up and Aunt Cathy, Storm, and Cassidy were here. We had a good time this morning at IHOP. You ate lots of scrambled eggs! You loved showing off for everyone. We drove by the beach on the way home but we didn't get out.
When we got home Storm and Cassidy wanted to get into the hot tub. The stick their toes in and want to know why it is hot. I told them it is because it is a HOT tub! You wouldn't come near it because you didn't like the sound of the jets. My dear boy, you are a little fraidie cat.
We decided you all may like the bayou better. After you got used to it you loved it. Storm and Cass chased little fish around and you had a big time splashing Aunt Cathy and me. You would splash, Aunt Cathy would squeal, and you would howl with laughter. I love hearing you laugh like that. We had such a great time it wore you out. We showered off and Aunt Cathy combed your hair straight back. It was no trouble getting you to sleep.

When I went in to get you from your nap, I didn't know what to think. It was a little Elvis that awakened! We laughed and laughed at you. Then we quickly wet your hair because your Daddy would have killed us if he had seen your hair like that:)
Of course, we had to get some shopping in. We bought a present for Uncle Gary. Tomorrow is his birthday. We also bought a welcome present for your sister.

We hurried home because your Mommy called and said they were almost here. Your sister and you hit it off right away. She is so good with you. She is almost as cute as you! We are glad to have her and we look forward to getting to know her. Welcome Taylor!

Strange Dream

I had the strangest dream about you last night. I was looking in your mouth and you had about 10 teeth on each side in the back, they were molars. One of them was real black. I said I couldn't believe that you already had a cavity that big. Then a couple of other teeth looked rusty. I went to tell your Mom. In this dream Aunt Cathy and Uncle Mel were your parents. Your real Mom was there too. I can't remember much more than that. Very wierd!
We met friends for dinner and then you came over about 9:30. You get to spend the night with me because your Mommy and Daddy have to leave early in the morning to go pick your sister up. The trip will take about 12 hours and we didn't thnk you would like riding in your seat that long.
I have another surprise for you. Aunt Cathy is coming tonight. When you wake up she will be here. She will probably want to wake you up but I'm NOT going to let her. You were a wild one tonight and you were determined not to go to sleep. (Your Mommy said you had a power nap before you came over.) Finally you did.
Tomorrow is a big day for you. Sleep tight my sweet one.

Sister's Coming!

Grandmommy has to go to a party tonight so I don't get to keep you today. I went by to give you hugs and kisses though.
Your Mommy has been working very hard on your room. She has been rearranging things to make room for your sister. She will be coming in on Saturday. Her name is Taylor and you two will be meeting each other for the fist time. I will be telling you lots more about her in the next couple of weeks.
